Bài mẫu

People today expect information, goods and services to arrive almost the moment they are requested. Although this speed brings genuine convenience, I believe the development is on balance harmful, both for individuals and for those who deliver the services.

The advantages should not be dismissed. Being able to look up a symptom, book a medical appointment or renew a licence online saves hours that previous generations spent queuing, and for people living far from a city it can save an entire day of travel. Instant access to information has also transformed study, allowing a student in a small town to read the same material as one in a capital city. In emergencies, speed is not a luxury at all: same-day delivery of medicines or documents can matter enormously.

The costs, however, accumulate quietly. A habit of instant gratification erodes patience, and the goals that actually determine a person's future — learning a language, training for a qualification, saving money — all depend on delayed reward and months of unglamorous effort. Employers report that attention spans are shortening accordingly. Someone also has to supply this speed: in the on-demand economy it is delivery riders and warehouse staff who are at the sharp end, working to timers that leave no margin for traffic or fatigue. Ever-faster shopping additionally encourages impulse buying and generates mountains of packaging.

In conclusion, immediate service is valuable where it genuinely matters, particularly in healthcare and public administration. Beyond that, the expectation that nothing should ever require waiting damages our capacity for sustained effort and pushes the real cost onto low-paid workers.
