Overall, a quiet green space is to become an activity park: the open grass will disappear under new sports and social facilities, the playground will double in size, and the park''s natural features — the pond and the trees — will be kept but repackaged with a bridge and a protective fence.
In 2016 the park was simple. A pond lay in the north-west and a playground with swings and a slide in the north-east; the south-west was open grass, the south-east a loose cluster of trees, and a single footpath ran up from the southern gate.
Under the 2025 plan, almost every part gains a function. The playground will be doubled, adding a climbing wall and a fenced toddler zone. The grass will be replaced by a skate park and basketball court, with a new café and toilets below them. A wooden bridge will cross the pond, and the trees will be enclosed by a low fence as a wildlife area. A second path will link the two halves of the park, while the southern gate — the way everyone enters — remains untouched.
