The two maps compare a coastal village as it was in 1995 with the same stretch of coast as it appears today.

Overall, what was once a small fishing settlement has been comprehensively redeveloped for tourism. Almost every building connected with the local fishing industry has given way to leisure facilities, and only the church and the beach itself remain unaltered.

The most striking change concerns the buildings along the shoreline. The cluster of fishermen's houses in the west has been replaced by a large hotel complex, while the small harbour immediately to the east has been converted into a marina for pleasure boats. Inland, the farmland and woodland that formerly occupied the northern half of the area have disappeared: a golf course and an extensive car park now stand where crops were once grown.

A number of entirely new features have also been introduced. A shopping arcade and several apartment blocks have been built in the north-east, and these are served by a new access road running southwards to the coast road, which has itself been widened. Finally, the sandy beach, which had no facilities at all in 1995, is now lined with a promenade and cafés, although the church between the hotel and the marina has been left untouched.
